10262 The New Redwork, Outline Embroidery with Attitude - 01/26 (12:00 PM - 3:00 PM)

Take a new look at outline stitch embroidery by translating your own design into a decidedly untraditional stitchery. Adapt a favorite photo, a line drawing or other iconic image, and create your own unique expression! You will learn how to adapt a design for embroidery, how to transfer images to fabric, and  several different stitches to bring your design to life. Diane Schneck (an embroidery lover) will show you how. 

1/2 yard (or more) foundation fabric as background. (This can be muslin, white on white, a solid fabric or anything light colored that reads as a background.)

Embroidery thread, either 6 strand cotton embroidery floss or #8 Pearl cotton
Embroidery needles, mixed pack Sizes 3-9
Embroidery hoop, 6" round
Small sharp scissors
Fine point permanent pen, such as Pigma Pen, size 01 

Your own ideas of a design you would like to translate to stitchery, either a picture, line drawing, or other inspiration
Diane will bring: tracing paper and transfer pens, a light box for tracing, and some extra designs to inspire you.

Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate and Advance
Requirements: No experience necessary! Handwork only.
