10292 Over & Downunder - 04/11 (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM)

This exciting exuberant quilt appears to be woven but is not.  The pattern appears by the careful placement of squares and rectangle.  The piecing is simple, so any confident beginner can accomplish it, although more experienced quilters will find excitement in experimenting with color and values choices.  This is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Over and Down Under by All Through the Night Fold Art Design

The quilt size in the pattern (56” square) can be made with one 40 strip jelly roll, Bali Pops, etc. pack of fabric.  Jelly rolls are usually 40  fabrics (but some are smaller, so check) cut into 2 1/2” strips.  This saves you one part of the cutting process since the squares in the quilt are 2 1/2”.  One draw back of a jelly roll is that there is very little room for error, so be very care in cutting.

1 1/2 yds of fabric for background and borders

If you want to make your quilt larger, or if you prefer to use your own fabrics, you will need to cut 40 or more 2 1/2” strips.  You can use all different fabrics. or you can repeat some of them.
